Juan Manuel Gutiérrez Freire

Sixty-six matches and fifteen goals from a defender: that is what Хуан Мануэль Гутьеррес Фрейре produced at Boston River between 2023 and 2025, on loan from Almería.

He came through at Danubio in Uruguay and made his debut on 16 May 2018. Thirty-seven matches and two goals followed over two seasons. In 2020 he moved to Spain and joined Almería B , where he played 17 matches and scored once. Almería held his registration from 2020 to 2026, and he did not appear for the first team in any of those years.

Instead the club sent him out. A loan to Nacional between 2021 and 2023 brought only three appearances. From there he joined Defensa y Justicia on loan in 2025 and has played 28 matches, scoring four times. In 2026 the transfer was made permanent.

His international record sits at youth level. He played 21 matches for Uruguay U17 across 2018 and 2019, scoring six, and was part of the squad at the 2019 South American U17 Championship in Peru. He has not been capped by the senior side.
