D. Barrera

When Diego Barrera scored against Belgrano at the Gigante de Alberdi in August 2025, he celebrated by shaping his hands into a "T" — the mark of Talleres. The gesture made the local press as a provocation aimed at Central Córdoba, the side he was on loan to and playing for at the time. Barrera explained it afterwards as a sign of where he still felt he belonged.

He came through the Talleres academy, joining in 2018 and signing his first professional contract with the club in 2023, a deal running to the end of 2027. His first-team debut came on 28 January 2023, sent on as a second-half substitute against Independiente. By the middle of 2024 he had been loaned out to Mexican club Juárez, where he played for the reserve side.

In January 2025, Talleres loaned him out again, this time to Central Córdoba de Santiago del Estero for a year, with an option attached for the move to become permanent. It changed things for him: he made 25 league appearances that season, scoring three goals. He was sent on as a substitute in the win over Defensa y Justicia in July 2025. He plays right-footed, wears the number 7, and is still formally a Talleres player under the terms of the loan.
