About the player
Ola Dele Israel's career began not in Nigeria but in Latvia, where he joined FK Liepāja in 2020 before moving on to BFC Daugavpils a year later, playing there until January 2023. From there he crossed into Czech football, signing for SK Sigma Olomouc in February 2023. He stayed with the club through the 2025/26 season, scoring in the Czech First League in both the 2022/23 and 2024/25 campaigns and making 15 league appearances in 2023/24 alongside three in the Czech Cup. That cup run ended in a trophy: Sigma Olomouc won the MOL Cup that season, giving Dele Israel a first major honour of his career, even though the league title went elsewhere.
A loan spell followed in September 2025, when he moved to Hanácká Slavia Kroměříž for the rest of the 2025/26 season before returning to Sigma Olomouc that December.
His move to Petrolul Ploiești came as a free agent in the summer of 2026, on a contract running to June 2028. He was handed his debut in August 2026 against Universitatea Craiova, coming off at half-time, and was named in the squad again the following week for the game against Oțelul Galați.
Dele Israel plays as a forward and is comfortable using either foot. He has not featured for Nigeria at senior international level.
