About the player
Sporting's academy took him in at seven, in 2011. Fourteen years later, David Moreira came off the bench in the Taça de Portugal final against Benfica, won 3-1.
In 2022/23 he played five matches in the Liga Revelação U23 and scored five goals, alongside two appearances for the U19s in the UEFA Youth League. He was a Portuguese U15 champion in 2018/19, after taking the U15 AFL 1st Division title the season before.
In July 2024 he moved up to Sporting B and signed until June 2028. He played 19 matches in Liga 3 that season, and the side finished second to earn promotion to Liga Portugal 2.
May 2025 brought a call-up from Cape Verde . He started the friendly against Malaysia on 29 May, a 1-1 draw, and played the full 90 minutes. Substitute appearances against Iran and Egypt followed in November.
In 2026 he left the Sporting structure for Gil Vicente , where he has made one Liga Portugal appearance so far.
