D. Quiñones

Tumaco has produced its share of footballers who make their names on the Pacific coast before heading inland, and Déinner Quiñones's route has taken him further than most — via two spells in Israel with Maccabi Petah-Tikva and Hapoel Be'er Sheva before he found his way back to Colombian football. That stretch abroad sets him apart from most of the squad at Once Caldas, who joined the club as a free agent in July 2025.

The clearest mark on his career came at América de Cali, where he won back-to-back domestic titles: the Torneo Finalización in 2019 and the full 2020 championship. Those two medals remain the high point of a career that has otherwise moved club to club, including a stint at Independiente Medellín and, most recently, a season at Deportivo Pasto before the move to Manizales.

At Once Caldas he has yet to establish himself as a regular, with his first year at the club limited to four appearances and 186 minutes on the pitch. He plays as a left-footed midfielder and wears the number 70 shirt, an unusual choice for an outfield player that has become something of a personal marker at the club.

He has never been called up to the Colombian national team, and his career has instead been built on steady work at club level rather than individual recognition — no personal awards feature on his record. What stands out is the contrast between the title-winning years in Cali and the more modest role he has occupied since, a reminder that a player's peak and his present form do not always line up.
