Johan Wallens Otálvaro

Johan Wallens Otálvaro grew up in the goalkeeping ranks of Deportivo Cali, the club that gave him his start and that he kept returning to throughout his career. He first broke into the squad in 2009, moved on for a season at Cortuluá, and then took his game abroad in 2012, joining Pachuca in Mexico. That stint did not last, and by 2013 he was back in Cali colours, where he settled in for several years shuffling between the first team and loan spells elsewhere.

Those loans became a defining pattern of his career. Atlético Cali took him in for the 2017–18 seasons, and later he found himself on the move again, first to Unión Magdalena in 2021, then to Bogotá FC in 2022. Rather than settling permanently at any one of these stops, he kept circling back to Deportivo Cali, turning out for the club once more in 2023.

Unión Magdalena called on him again in 2024, another loan spell in a career built largely on temporary arrangements rather than long-term commitments. By early 2025, Wallens had joined Alianza Petrolera, the latest step in a journey that has taken him through several Colombian clubs and one foreign league without ever fully cutting ties with the side where it all began.
