Alexis Zapata opened the scoring in the 29th minute, finding space to slot home from close range. Nahuel Bustos doubled the advantage three minutes later, capitalising on poor marking in the box. Alianza had no answer to the movement in the final third.
Cristian Andrés Vergara Rivas pulled one back in the 47th minute, a moment of hope that lasted only moments. Then came the penalty in the 75th minute, which Bustos converted to extend the lead. The home side looked flat-footed by then, unable to mount any meaningful pressure.
Hugo Rodallega added a fourth goal in the 90th minute plus three, a late flourish that ended any pretence of a comeback. Santafe's substitutions at half-time had shifted the tempo entirely. The hosts had no response to the fresh legs.
