Danylo Varakuta

Danylo Varakuta came through the Kherson youth school Osvita under coaches Andriy Rudenko and Ihor Shelest, then moved through Ukraine's youth league system with sides from Mykolaiv, Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk before settling at Chornomorets Odesa. He made his way to the reserve team in the 2018/19 season. By January 2019 he had been called into the first-team squad, though his senior debut did not come until 3 August 2020, in a First League fixture against Metalist 1925 that finished goalless.

Varakuta went on to make around 45 appearances for Chornomorets. His clearest individual mark came in the 2023/24 season, when he finished as the Ukrainian Premier League's leader in saves while still with the Odesa club.

On 6 September 2024 he signed for Metalist 1925 on a contract running to 30 June 2029, taking the number 30 shirt. In the 2025/26 season he ranked among the league's top three goalkeepers for clean sheets, shutting out opponents in 14 of 28 matches.

He has not featured for any of Ukraine's national sides, at youth or senior level.
