About the player
Davor Blažević spent his formative years at Assyriska FF before moving into IF Brommapojkarna's academy, where the club shaped him as a goalkeeper through his teenage years. He broke into the first team in 2010, a season that also saw him sent out on loan to Gröndals IK to gain further experience between the posts.
His career then took a quieter turn. A move to AFC United in 2016 left him without a single league appearance, restricted to the role of understudy rather than first-choice keeper.
The high point of his career came in 2022, when Hammarby reached the final of the Svenska Cupen. Blažević was in goal as the match went to a penalty shoot-out, which Hammarby lost to Malmö FF.
Born in Södertälje to parents who had emigrated from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Blažević grew up and developed entirely within Swedish football, representing the country at U17, U19 and U21 level. In December 2024 he returned to IF Brommapojkarna, the club where his senior career first began, now wearing the number 25 shirt in Allsvenskan.
