About the player
Oliver Zandén moved abroad in 2022, when Toulouse paid Elfsborg the equivalent of SEK 18.5 million for the young defender. He made five appearances in Ligue 1 in his first season, but a hip injury and stiff competition for places kept him on the fringes.
Zandén came through the ranks at Gerdskens BK before joining Elfsborg's academy, debuting for the first team in September 2021 and scoring his first senior goal the following year.
His time in France did bring one honour: Zandén was part of the Toulouse squad that won the Coupe de France in the 2022/23 season. Playing time in the league remained scarce, though, and in January 2024 he was loaned out to Danish side Randers FC. The loan stretched across two seasons, during which he made 13 Superliga appearances.
In January 2025, Zandén returned to Sweden, signing for IF Brommapojkarna on a contract running to the end of 2027, wearing the number 6 shirt and appearing in 18 Allsvenskan matches in 2026, contributing one goal and two assists.
