Eduardo Zanella

Eduardo Zanella was a name behind another goalkeeper's shirt. During his time in Maringá's squad in 2024, veteran Dheimison held the starting spot, and Zanella did not get a chance in the first team. What did arrive was a loan away from the club, and it was there, not at Maringá, that his career took shape.

The move to Monte Azul in 2024 put a jersey on his back every week. Over two seasons he made 49 appearances for the São Paulo state club, and in 2024 Monte Azul won the Copa Paulista with him between the posts. The following year he played on as the club competed in Série D, national football's fourth tier, giving him a run of senior football his time at Maringá had not.

Before any of that, Zanella came through a scattered set of academies. Born in Santa Maria, in Rio Grande do Sul, he passed through the youth ranks at Novo Horizonte, Internacional, Criciúma and finally Maringá, where he stayed on into the senior squad without breaking through.

In January 2026, Londrina made the move permanent rather than another loan, signing Zanella outright on a contract running to the end of 2028. It is a vote of confidence built on what he did at Monte Azul rather than what he showed at Maringá. He arrives at Londrina for a push in Série B, though as pre-season closes he has yet to feature for the club in the Campeonato Paranaense, the Copa do Brasil or the league itself. The appearances, for now, are still to come.
