About the player
Erik Dueñas broke into Los Angeles FC's first team as a teenager, making his Major League Soccer debut in October 2020 at 15 years and 362 days old — one of the youngest players to appear in the league's history. He had come through the LAFC academy, and over four seasons with the senior side he made 48 appearances across all competitions.
Regular first-team football proved hard to find. LAFC sent him out on loan twice, first to Las Vegas Lights in the USL Championship, then to the club's own reserve side, LAFC 2, in MLS Next Pro, where he scored three goals.
In January 2025, Dueñas moved on waivers to Houston Dynamo FC, signing a contract with options through 2028. His season there was split between the first team, where he made 11 appearances and set up a goal in MLS, and the reserve side, Houston Dynamo 2. He signed for Querétaro in Mexico at the end of December 2025, and has since made his first appearances for the club in Liga MX and the Leagues Cup.
Dueñas won the US Open Cup with LAFC in 2024.
