Gino Santilli

Villa Constitución, sent no shortage of players north over the years, but Gino Santilli made his name further afield, in Uruguay. On loan at Cerro Largo, the goalkeeper scored in 2024 and scored — a strike that goalkeepers almost never get to claim, and one that stood out in a spell that ran to 62 appearances for the club.

Santilli came through at Banfield and joined the first-team squad in 2021, the club where he has spent his career to date. The loan to Cerro Largo, agreed in August 2023, was meant to be brief. Instead it stretched on, extended into 2025 as he established himself as the side's regular goalkeeper in Uruguay.

He returned to Banfield in December 2025 once the loan spell ended, back at the club that had shaped him before he left. Score Futbol Verificado represents him, and his contract in Argentina runs to the end of 2027, giving him time to build on what he showed abroad.

At 191cm, Santilli fits the profile clubs look for between the posts, and he now wears the number 25 shirt at Banfield. What comes next is a question of whether he can turn a productive loan spell into a settled run in his own club's goal.
