About the player
Lautaro Gómez came through Banfield's academy from the age of nine, working his way up every level of the club's youth system before captaining the reserve side. By 2024 he had been moved into the first-team squad.
His debut in the Primera División came on 19 May 2024 against Huracán, when he came off the bench in the 89th minute of a 1-1 draw. Two appearances in the 2024 Torneo Betano and four more in 2025, still without a goal at senior level. In 2026, Gómez became a regular fixture in Banfield's team: 20 league appearances yielded three goals, and he added a further three outings and an assist in the Copa Argentina.
Banfield rewarded that emergence with a contract extension, tying the midfielder to the club through December 2027. He wears the number 10 shirt and plays as an attacking midfielder, favouring his left foot.
His career to date has been built entirely at Banfield, without a loan spell elsewhere.
