About the player
Nicolás Meriano came through the Belgrano academy in Córdoba, working his way up through every youth category before breaking into the first team in 2021. Along the way the club sent him out on loan to Rosario Central, where he made his senior debut against Estudiantes that October.
Back at Belgrano, the central defender was part of the squad that won the Primera B Nacional title in 2022. The deal carries an option for Banfield to make the transfer permanent, covering 80 per cent of his rights for 1,200,000 dollars. At Banfield he has taken the number 6 shirt.
