Ignacio Pussetto

Watford paid £7 million for Ignacio Pussetto in January 2020. He went straight back to Udinese on loan, stayed for two seasons and returned 7 goals in 39 appearances; the loan carried an obligation to buy that was never exercised. In August 2023 the contract with Watford was terminated by mutual agreement and he left England on a free.

He had come out of Juventud Unida in Cañada Rosquín, in Santa Fe, and into the academy at Atlético de Rafaela, where he turned professional. Three seasons there brought 44 appearances and 4 goals before Huracán paid a reported $1.4 million for him in July 2016. That first spell in Buenos Aires made his name: 9 goals in 2017 made him the club's top scorer, and Udinese bought him a year later for around €8 million.

It was the return to Huracán in 2023 that marked a high point. He finished the Copa de la Liga Profesional that year as the tournament's leading scorer, and Huracán avoided relegation.

UNAM Pumas paid US$3 million for him on a three-year deal, and he scored 8 goals in 32 appearances in Mexico. At Independiente the return has been thinner: 1 goal in 22 appearances.

He has won no major team honours. His only involvement with the national set-up came in 2014, in an under-20 pre-selection squad used as sparring partners for the senior side; he has no senior caps.
