Igor Obukhov

Igor Obukhov spent close to a decade in the Zenit system without ever making an appearance for the first team. Signed by the Saint Petersburg club as a teenager, he was farmed out repeatedly to gain experience elsewhere, while his registered minutes at Zenit itself stayed at zero.

Obukhov's path into the game started in his home city, before moving to Smena under coach Sergei Chizhevsky, and then into Zenit's academy setup. The loan spells that followed took him to Tyumen, Arsenal Tula and SKA-Khabarovsk, the last of which turned into a permanent move in 2020 once his Zenit contract lapsed.

A settled run followed. He spent two seasons at Rotor from 2021, then moved to Neftekhimik in the summer of 2022. His longest uninterrupted stint came at Khimki between 2023 and 2025, until the club's dissolution left him a free agent. That is how he arrived at Fakel Voronezh in 2025, joining without a transfer fee changing hands. Asked in a 2024 interview about the financial side of his moves, Obukhov said he did not think it appropriate to discuss the sums involved.

He plays right-footed and wears number 96 at Fakel.
