About the player
Ismaël Diarra Diawara began his professional career at Degerfors IF, playing in Superettan, and in 2020 helped the club finish as runners-up and earn promotion to Allsvenskan.
He moved to Malmö FF in 2021. Diawara won the Swedish league title with the club in both 2021 and 2023, and added the Swedish Cup in the 2021/22 season. In December 2023 he moved on to AIK, where he served as second-choice goalkeeper behind Kristoffer Nordfeldt. In January 2025 he joined Sirius.
Diawara holds dual Malian and Swedish nationality and represents Mali at international level. He made his debut for the national team on 14 November 2021 in a 1-0 win over Uganda during World Cup 2022 qualifying, and has gone on to earn 10 caps.
