J. Oerip

Julian Oerip grew up in Alkmaar and joined the AZ academy before signing his first professional terms at 15. He was already a fixture in the Netherlands youth setup by his mid-teens, capped at under-16, under-17, under-18 and under-19 level. His biggest team honour to date came with AZ's under-19 side, which won the UEFA Youth League in 2022/23. Though eligible for Indonesia through his family background, he has not featured for Indonesia at any level.

Oerip made his first-team bow for Jong AZ, the club's reserve side in the Eerste Divisie, in April 2023. Early on he was a fringe figure, coming off the bench in fixtures such as the trip to FC Dordrecht in August 2024. That changed within months: by February 2025 he was starting and playing full matches, including against VVV-Venlo. Across his time with the reserves he has scored in each of the last several seasons, with two goals and an assist in 2024/25 and further goals and assists since.

The step up to AZ's first team arrived in 2025/26, when he made his Eredivisie debut against ADO Den Haag. He was part of the senior squad that won both the KNVB Cup and the Dutch Super Cup that season. In June 2025, AZ rewarded his development with a new contract running to the summer of 2029, tying him to the club that has shaped his career from youth level onwards.
