About the player
Jeffinho joined Shenyang Urban on loan from Botafogo in January 2026, taking on the number 47 shirt in the Chinese Super League. His career began at the Pelé Academia, before a spell at Resende and loan spells at Gama and Botafogo, and by August 2022 he had signed for Botafogo permanently.
The move that defined his career came at the end of January 2023, when Lyon paid €10 million for him. He made 19 appearances for the French club and scored twice, and in January 2024 he returned to Botafogo on loan. That loan was made permanent at the end of 2024 for €5.3 million.
It was back at Botafogo that Jeffinho found his most productive stretch, winning the Série A title, the Copa Libertadores and the Taça Rio in 2024. That run came despite fitness setbacks: he suffered a serious ankle injury in December 2022 and later needed knee surgery in 2024.
Born in Volta Redonda, Jeffinho plays as a right-footed midfielder. He has not yet earned a senior cap for Brazil.
