Dinghao Yan

Dinghao Yan's development took an unusual route for a Chinese player of his generation: after coming through the Hangzhou Greentown academy, he moved to Portugal, joining FC Porto's youth setup and progressing to Porto B, with loan spells at Salgueiros, Arouca and Gondomar along the way.

He returned to China in 2019 on loan at Guangzhou Evergrande before signing permanently with Guangzhou FC, where he won the Chinese Super League title that same year. His progress was interrupted that August by a serious ACL injury, which kept him out of action for 354 days before he returned to the pitch in July 2020. He worked his way back into the side and was made captain at Guangzhou in June 2022.

A free transfer took him to Wuhan Three Towns in April 2023, where he won the Chinese FA Super Cup. He moved on to Chengdu Rongcheng for a fee of €320,000 in February 2024, wearing the number 15 shirt there before a free transfer to Liaoning Tieren, formerly known as Shenyang Urban, in January 2026, where he took the number 8.

He was called up for senior national team training camps in 2022, though he has yet to add a full cap.
