About the player
Persson made his way to Sirius through Rimbo, where he had already made his mark as a teenager: 18 appearances and nine goals for the first team before the club moved on. Sirius signed him into their academy in 2018, and by 2019 he had a professional contract in hand.
The path to regular first-team football ran through two loan spells. At IFK Luleå in 2020 he scored four goals in ten matches. The following two seasons took him to IK Brage, where he logged the heaviest workload of his young career: 43 appearances and ten goals across 2021 and 2022.
Sirius rewarded that development in November 2024, extending his contract through to 2029.
The senior international recognition followed soon after. Persson made his debut for Sweden on 12 January 2024 in a friendly against Estonia. He has also represented the under-21 side, for whom he scored once in three appearances.
He now wears the number 7 shirt for Sirius.
