In 2024, little more than a year after his first appearance for the senior side, Kubrat was made captain of Septemvri Sofia.

His debut came on 17 March 2023, and the first professional contract followed shortly afterwards. The season that made his name was 2023/24 in the Second Professional League, where he played 19 matches and scored once as Septemvri Sofia won promotion to the First Professional League. He held his place in the top flight the following year — 24 appearances, one goal and one assist in 2024/25.

Where exactly he plays has never been fixed. He is used mainly at right-back and at centre-back, and has also been listed as a defensive midfielder; he is right-footed, and the club keeps him in the back line more often than not.

The football education began earlier and more quietly, in the youth system of DIT Sofia in 2013, and ran through Septemvri Sofia II in 2022.

Bulgaria have called him up at every youth level since. He won six caps for the under-17s between 2022 and 2023 and scored twice, added three appearances for the under-18s in 2023 and seven for the under-19s in 2024. By 2025 he had five under-21 caps. No individual awards are recorded against his name.
