About the player
Kauê Rodrigues Pessanha joined Botafogo's academy in 2017 and signed his first professional contract with the club in April 2022. He made his first-team debut on 20 January 2024, in a Campeonato Carioca match against Bangu that Botafogo won 2-0. Earlier, in 2019, he was part of the Brazil squad that won the South American Under-15 Championship.
Kauê went on to become part of a Botafogo squad that won both the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A and the Copa Libertadores in 2024.
Botafogo retained 50% of his economic rights as part of the deal, and Porto holds an option to buy a further 30% for €4.5 million, according to Fogaonet .
Since arriving in Portugal, the midfielder has featured regularly for Porto's reserve side in the Liga Portugal 2, appearing in 27 matches during the 2025/26 campaign and contributing two goals and three assists from midfield.
