About the player
Kieran Sargeant is a product of the Houston Dynamo academy, where he came through the ranks between 2017 and 2021 and was voted the best player in the club's Under-17 group during the 2019/20 season. He took the college route, spending three seasons with the Georgetown Hoyas, where he made 60 appearances, scored four goals and set up 15 more.
Houston brought him back on a Homegrown contract in January 2024. He spent that season with the club's MLS NEXT Pro side, Houston Dynamo 2, making around 25 appearances and scoring once, before going out on loan to Lexington SC in the USL Championship in 2025, where he made 27 appearances.
San Diego acquired his rights from Houston in December 2025, sending a third-round pick in the 2026 MLS SuperDraft and up to $50,000 in general allocation money the other way, while Houston kept a sell-on percentage.
Sargeant wears the number 5 shirt.
