Lee Tae-seok

Lee Tae-seok's most talked-about moment in a South Korea shirt did not come at a World Cup but in a friendly. On 18 November 2025 he scored his first international goal, the winner in a 1-0 win over Ghana.

He captained the side at Ohsan High School and was named K League Junior Best Player in 2020. He made his first-team debut for Seoul on 7 April 2021 and went on to play 89 league matches for the club without scoring, a run that nonetheless earned him a place in the K League 1 team of the week in September 2021.

In 2024 he moved to Pohang Steelers in a swap deal that sent defender Kang Hyun-mu the other way, with the cash element undisclosed. He scored twice in 34 league appearances for Pohang and won the Korean FA Cup with the club that year. He was also part of the South Korea Under-23 squad that won the 2024 WAFF Championship.

Austria Wien signed him in August 2025 for a reported fee of €800,000. He has since made 32 appearances and scored three goals in the Austrian league.

Lee earned his first senior cap for South Korea against Kuwait on 15 November 2024 and had been capped seven times by July 2025. He had previously played at the 2019 Under-17 World Cup, where South Korea finished eighth.
