Lucas Blondel

Blondel is the first Swiss-born player to turn out for Boca Juniors in the modern era. He joined the youth academy at Atlético de Rafaela in 2004 and did not make his senior debut there until 2016, twelve years later. Five seasons followed at the club: 71 league appearances, five goals.

That year Tigre won the Primera Nacional and went up to the Primera División; Blondel scored three goals in 28 league matches across the promotion campaign. In 2022 he was a runner-up in the Copa de la Liga Profesional with Tigre, beaten in the final by Boca Juniors. He finished his time at the club with 72 league appearances and four goals.

Boca signed him on 19 July 2023 by triggering his release clause, a fee Tigre confirmed at US$1,850,000. He made 28 league appearances and scored three goals there, and was named in the squad for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

He holds dual Argentine and Swiss citizenship, and it is Switzerland he represents. The first call-up came in March 2025; he was handed a debut on 21 March 2025 in a friendly against Northern Ireland that finished 1–1. By June 2025 he had four caps and no goals.

On 3 March 2026 he joined Huracán on loan until December 2026, with a purchase option attached. Ten appearances so far, one goal.
