About the player
The record that made Lukáš Ambros arrived in February 2023, when he came off the bench for Wolfsburg against RB Leipzig at 18 years, 8 months and 13 days old and became the youngest Czech to play in the Bundesliga. The result that night, a 3-0 defeat, mattered less than the number itself.
Ambros came through Czech academies before Wolfsburg took him in 2020: spells at Dolní Němčí, Slovácko and Slavia Prague.
Górnik Zabrze offered a fresh start in July 2024, and it worked. Over two seasons in Poland he made 58 appearances across all competitions, scored in both the Ekstraklasa and the Polish Cup.
His exit from Zabrze in the summer of 2026 turned into a dispute.
At international level, Ambros has moved through the Czech youth ranks from under-15 to under-21 level, scoring at most age groups along the way, including a goal and an assist for the under-21s against Azerbaijan in October 2025. He is yet to be capped by the senior national team. At Anderlecht he now wears the number 18 shirt.
