About the player
Mauricio Aimar Cuevas came through the LA Galaxy academy system, joining the club's fold via LA Galaxy II before a spell in Belgium with Club Brugge's reserve side, Club NXT. That route back through Belgium and into the first team is the shape of his career so far.
The clearest mark on his record came with the United States at youth level. In 2022 he was part of the American under-20 squad that won the CONCACAF U-20 Championship, a title earned at international rather than club level. Back in Los Angeles, he was included in the Galaxy squad that lifted the MLS Cup in 2024.
Off the pitch, the Galaxy recognised him in 2025 with their Humanitarian of the Year award.
In 2026 Cuevas moved on to Mexican football, joining Santos Laguna.
