Metehan Mert

Metehan Mert's spell at Sarıyer has doubled as the busiest stretch of his career: since joining on loan from Konyaspor in the summer of 2025, he has made 36 appearances and scored twice.

He came through Gençlerbirliği's youth ranks, and signed his first professional contract there in December 2018. He made 53 appearances and scored four goals, with a loan to Hacettepe in between that yielded 33 matches and two goals before he returned to Gençlerbirliği in January 2021.

Konyaspor signed him in February 2023, but first-team opportunities there were scarce; he made just four appearances for the senior side.

In 2023/24 he was sidelined at the end of the campaign and did not return to league action until the following year. The following season brought a more serious setback: an injury that required surgery, performed by Dr Timur Yıldırım, kept him out for eight matches.

He was sent off against Altınordu in January 2023 for a second yellow card, picked up another red card that season against Tuzlaspor, and was dismissed twice more in 2024/25 — against Batman Petrolspor, in the 84th minute, and against Amedspor.
