About the player
Michael Santos was handed his first-team debut at River Plate in Montevideo at 17. FC København signed him outright in 2019, only to send him straight back to Leganés on loan.
He became the club's leading foreign goalscorer of all time, finishing with 34 goals, and in 2023 he topped the Liga Profesional scoring charts with 13. That form took him to Mexico's FC Juárez in August 2023, but he returned to Argentina less than a year later, signing for Vélez Sarsfield in July 2024.
Santos won the Argentine league title with Vélez in 2024 and added the Supercopa Argentina in 2025. He has represented Uruguay twice at senior level and was part of the squad that won gold at the 2015 Pan American Games.
In January 2026 he joined Central Córdoba de Santiago del Estero on loan, and has scored five goals with two assists in 17 appearances there.
