There was a night in 2011 when Miku became, briefly, the man who could beat Paraguay almost single-handedly for Venezuela: at the Copa América that summer he scored against them, part of a run that carried the team further than anyone had expected. That international career ran to 51 caps and 11 goals for La Vinotinto, starting with a debut on 16 August 2006, and it gave the forward a level of recognition his club career, scattered across continents, rarely matched on its own.

He came up through Spanish football, moving through Alcoyano, Salamanca, Ciudad de Murcia and Valencia's reserve side before a spell at Gimnàstic de Tarragona pushed him into Valencia CF's first team, and later Rayo Vallecano, Deportivo La Coruña, Real Murcia, Intercity and Arenteiro. The clearest mark he left in Spain came at Getafe between 2010 and 2013, and he returned to Rayo Vallecano for a second stint from 2015 to 2017. In between, his career went abroad in a way few Venezuelan players' have: a season at Celtic in Glasgow that brought a league and cup double, then moves to Qatar with Al-Gharafa, India with Bengaluru FC and Cyprus with Omonia Nicosia.

He returned to Venezuelan football later in his career, joining Academia Puerto Cabello in 2023, where he scored 5 goals in 20 appearances that included Copa Libertadores matches. Miku signed for Metropolitanos FC on 8 July 2024 for the Clausura tournament, and his overall record in Venezuelan professional football, spanning both clubs, stands at 35 matches and 9 goals.
