About the player
Toulouse is where Wael Derbali was born, but Tunisian football is where he built his career. He came through the Toulouse academy before making the move to Tunisia in 2021, joining Olympique Béja, where he made 32 appearances.
That run of form took him to Espérance de Tunis in 2023, where he spent three seasons and made 28 appearances, scoring once. His time there coincided with a period of sustained success: Espérance won the Tunisian league title in both 2023–24 and 2024–25, and Derbali also collected a Tunisian Cup winner's medal with the club in 2024–25, having already won the same trophy with Béja in 2022–23. He added two Tunisian Super Cups to that list, in 2024 and 2025.
This year he left Espérance on a free transfer to join IF Brommapojkarna.
