About the player
Rize produced Mücahit Albayrak, but it was Ümraniyespor that made him. He signed with the club in 2011 and stayed through 2019, working his way into the first team and building the bulk of his career there — close to 160 appearances and a pair of league titles along the way, in the Turkish third tier in 2013/14 and the second tier in 2015/16. That stretch, not any single transfer, is what defines him: a defender who grew up inside one dressing room rather than passing through it.
The move away came in January 2019, to Gaziantep FK. From there his career took the shape familiar to many lower-division defenders in Turkish football: loans and transfers strung together year after year. Samsunspor loaned him in early 2021 and signed him outright the following year.
He left for Esenler Erokspor in August 2024, playing another 29 matches before a further move surfaced with Batman Petrolspor. Through it all, Albayrak has remained a left-footed left-back, his career built entirely in the country's domestic leagues.
