Nora Heroum

Heroum was born in Helsinki to a Moroccan father and a Finnish mother. She made her debut for HJK Helsinki as a teenager, moved through Finnish football with FC Honka and Åland United, then left for Denmark, where she won the league and cup with Fortuna Hjørring in 2015–16.

From there she went to Italy, spending the best part of a decade across five clubs. She won the Italian Supercup with Milan in her first season there. After two seasons in Italy she had a spell in England with Brighton & Hove Albion, then returned south, playing for Lazio, Parma and Sampdoria in succession before coming back to HJK, the club where she started out, in 2025.

Heroum has been a fixture for Finland for well over a decade, earning 93 caps and scoring twice since her debut against Belgium in May 2012. She was called up to the squad for UEFA Women's Euro 2013 at the age of 18 and has since represented Finland at Euro 2022 and Euro 2025, spanning three different generations of the national team. With Finland she has also won the Cyprus Women's Cup in 2023 and the Pinatar Cup in 2024.

She has worn the number 11 shirt at HJK since her return.
