N. Sigur

Cut from the Vancouver Whitecaps academy in 2018, Niko Sigur played for Vaughan Azzurri in 2021, then moved to Slovenia in 2022 to play for the youth side of NK Radomlje, at the time a feeder club for Hajduk Split. The transfer to Split followed later that year on a free, with the fee undisclosed.

His first-team debut came on 22 April 2023 against Varaždin, a 2-0 win in which he was handed a start at right-back because of injuries. He has since played as a defensive midfielder and right-back. In 2023/24 he made 25 league appearances, two in the Croatian Cup and two in the UEFA Conference League. He holds a Croatian Cup winner's medal from 2022/23.

Sigur holds Canadian and Croatian citizenship, and played for Croatia's youth teams, including a place on the preliminary squad for the 2023 European Under-21 Championship. In August 2024, FIFA approved his switch to Canada. He debuted for the senior side on 10 September 2024, coming on in the 77th minute of a goalless friendly against Mexico. His first international goal arrived on 17 June 2025 against Honduras in a 6-0 CONCACAF Gold Cup win; the second came against Romania on 5 September 2025, in a 3-0 friendly. He was part of the Canada squad that took bronze in the 2025 CONCACAF Nations League, and by the end of that year had around 15 caps.

Genk tabled a formal offer of €4m, Celtic around €3.5m and Toulouse roughly €2m. None of the deals closed, and Sigur stayed in Split.
