About the player
What stands out about Nérilia Mondésir is the height column on her card, and how little it explains her play. In 2024 she became the first Haitian-born player to score a goal in the NWSL, a marker for a career that began far from Seattle.
Mondésir started out at AS Tigresses in Haiti, where between 2014 and 2016 she won three domestic championships. In 2017 she signed for Montpellier HSC in France, where she stayed for seven seasons.
She made her senior debut at the 2020 CONCACAF Women's Championship, and a year earlier had already been part of the first Caribbean team to reach the final stage of the Women's U-20 World Cup, a landmark for the region as much as for her individually.
