About the player
Niko Šepić signed with NK Istra 1961 on 16 January 2026 until 2030. The fee was not disclosed. He had returned to the GNK Dinamo Zagreb senior squad only days earlier.
Šepić grew up in the Rijeka academy and left at 14 for the Dinamo Zagreb system, where he worked through the U15 and U17 sides before settling at U19 level. The 2023/24 season brought a national junior title in the Prva NL Juniori with the Dinamo U19 team. The following campaign he played 25 matches for the U19s and scored three goals.
In July 2024 he was sent on loan to NK Dubrava in the Prva NL, Croatia's second tier. Croatian Football Federation records credit him with 17 appearances, two goals and three yellow cards there in 2025/26. The loan was terminated around the turn of the year.
HNL over the remainder of 2025/26. Across all competitions that season he was recorded with 31 appearances, two goals and five yellow cards. By August 2026 he had four outings in the new campaign.
He has been called into Croatia's youth national teams, appearing for the U19 side during 2024 in tournament fixtures that included matches against Armenia and Belarus. No senior international call-up has been registered.
