Oswaldo Enrique Blanco Mancilla

Cartagena produced footballers who reached South American football's second and third tiers, and some who built a career almost entirely away from home. His path started at Atlético Nacional and América de Cali in Colombia, but it was Argentina that shaped most of his professional years, with spells at Deportivo Merlo, Los Andes, Acassuso, Deportivo Laferrere and Sportivo Italiano. None of those clubs made him a household name, but the run kept him working in a demanding, competitive market for the better part of a decade.

Bolivia turned out to be where he found his clearest form. At Atlético Palmaflor, Aurora and San Antonio Bulo Bulo, Blanco settled into the kind of regular first-team football that had been harder to find in Argentina. A short stint at Alianza in El Salvador added another country to a résumé already built on movement rather than roots.

In 2026 Blanco signed for Volta Redonda in Brazil, a market he had not previously played in. It did not take long for him to leave a mark: he finished as the club's top-scoring foreigner in its history, with four goals. For a squad that had brought him in as an unproven name outside Brazilian football, that return was enough to make the move look justified.

Blanco never played for Colombia's senior national team, though his name has been linked to an appearance at youth level. Having spent his career shuttling between leagues that rarely make international headlines, his season at Volta Redonda stands as a marker of what he can still do in front of goal.
