Przemysław Wiśniewski

The move that took Przemysław Wiśniewski to Widzew Łódź at the end of January 2026 was worth around €3.5–4 million — enough to make him, at the time, the most expensive Polish player in Ekstraklasa history. He signed a contract running to the end of December 2030.

Before that came the goal people still bring up. On 13 May 2023, playing for Spezia Calcio, he scored his first Serie A goal against AC Milan. Spezia had paid a reported €5 million for him in January of that year, taking him from Venezia FC, where he had arrived on a free transfer in May 2022.

The route there was slower. He learned the game at Stadion Śląski Chorzów until 2014, then joined the Górnik Zabrze academy, and spent three seasons with the reserve side before stepping up to the senior squad in 2018. He left Górnik in 2022 as a free agent.

The international call came late by the usual measure. Wiśniewski had no senior caps at all until 4 September 2025, when he made his Poland debut in a World Cup qualifier away to the Netherlands under coach Jan Urban. Poland drew 1–1; Matty Cash scored. It was Urban's first match in charge.

A centre-back at 195 cm, right-footed, he has no senior club honours to his name and no individual awards on record. What he has is a price tag that reset a domestic benchmark, and a first top-flight goal that arrived against one of the biggest sides in Italy.
