Pedro Ferreira

Seven matches into his first season in Bulgaria, Pedro Ferreira has not been taken off once. The defensive midfielder started all seven of Septemvri Sofia's opening fixtures in the First Professional League and played all 630 minutes, picking up two yellow cards along the way. No goals, no assists — the job he has been given sits further back.

He arrived in Sofia on 1 July 2026 on a free transfer, with a contract running to 30 June 2027.

Ferreira grew up in the game at U.D. Oliveirense, the club of his home region, where he trained from 2005 to 2019. That came on 12 September 2020, in Liga Portugal 2. He made 11 appearances for Oliveirense in all, then left for C.F. Canelas 2010 in July 2021, where a season in Liga 3 brought two appearances and one goal.

Two years at Gondomar S.C. followed from July 2022. The most substantial stretch of his career came afterwards at U.S.C. Paredes, which he joined in July 2024: 41 league appearances across Liga 3 and the Campeonato de Portugal, one goal, and a final season in which he played 25 times in Liga 3. That run of regular football is what he brought with him to Bulgaria.

There are no individual awards on his record, no major titles, and no senior caps for Portugal. What there is instead is the pattern visible at Paredes and now repeated in Sofia: a midfielder who is picked, and who stays on the pitch.
