At 193cm, Pietro Saio is a centre-back who played 37 appearances and scored a goal in the 2025/26 campaign for Benevento .
He arrived on 3 July 2025 as a free agent, signing a three-year deal that runs to 30 June 2028. The move followed a season at Cavese , where he played 28 matches in Serie C and scored twice.
Saio came through the Juventus academy, staying in the Turin system until 2018 and playing in the youth age groups, including Allievi Nazionali. He then joined Monza 's youth setup in 2018 and moved to SPAL 's Primavera side in 2020. In April 2021 he was named in Monza's squad for a Serie B fixture against Ascoli but did not get on the pitch.
In the summer of 2023 he left as a free agent for Grosseto , where he became a starter: 32 Serie D appearances and two goals across the season. The step up to Cavese followed, then Benevento.
Saio was born in Voghera, in the province of Pavia, and is right-footed. He has not been called up by Italy at any level; his career to date has been played entirely at club sides.
