About the player
Robert Silaghi came through Romanian academy football without a first-team match to show for it. He joined Viitorul Gherla's youth ranks in 2011, moved on to Viitorul Cluj in 2017, and by 2019 had entered the CFR Cluj system. He stayed there until 2023, through two league titles, and never once took the pitch for the first team.
Loan spells kept him playing. At Farul Constanța in 2020/21 he made 19 appearances without scoring, then at Unirea 04 Slobozia in 2022/23 he found the net once in 33 outings. Neither loan carried him back into CFR Cluj's plans.
The breakthrough into regular first-team football came only once he left CFR for good. Signing for Universitatea Cluj in September 2023, Silaghi built up 47 appearances and a goal over two seasons.
He joined Sepsi OSK as a free agent in the summer of 2025, taking the number 7 shirt at a club that had won the Romanian Cup in 2022 and 2023 but was by then playing in Liga II. Silaghi has represented Romania at youth level, with call-ups to the under-18s in 2019 and the under-21s in 2024, two caps at each level. A full national team call-up has not followed.
