About the player
Palmeiras wrote a €100 million release clause into the contract of a forward who has yet to score for their senior side. The deal, agreed in 2025, runs to the end of 2029.
Riquelme Fillipi, full name Riquelme Fillipi Marinho de Souza, came through the academy of Ibracinho in his home town of Santo André, where he stayed until 2021. At 15 he moved to Palmeiras. By 2023 he was in the under-20 squad, and that is where the numbers are: 85 matches across 2024 and 2025, 36 goals and seven assists. The 2025 season alone brought 42 appearances, 23 goals and four assists. He won the Brazilian under-20 title that year and scored twice against Cerro Porteño in the under-20 Copa Libertadores.
The senior debut came on 26 July 2025, a 15-minute appearance in a 1-0 Série A win over Grêmio. He had been named in squads before that — against Atlético Mineiro in the league and Universitário in the Libertadores — without getting on the pitch. Two senior appearances followed in 2025, and nine more by August 2026. No goals yet at that level.
He plays mainly on the left flank and can switch to the right. Competition for places at Palmeiras has meant periodic returns to the under-20 setup and to the Copa São Paulo, the Copinha. Sporting, Nottingham Forest, Zenit and Copenhagen have all been weighing up a move; in August 2026 Inter Miami opened talks over 60% of his economic rights.
