About the player
Serge-Junior Martinsson Ngouali grew up in Hammarkullen, a suburb of Gothenburg, the son of a Gabonese father and a Swedish mother.
He left Brommapojkarna for Hammarby IF in 2017. He was named the club's player of the year in 2018 and was included in the Allsvenskan Team of the Year.
He made his debut on 18 January 2017 against Burkina Faso, a 1-1 draw at the Africa Cup of Nations, and went on to earn around 16 to 18 caps without scoring, appearing at both the 2017 and 2021 tournaments.
After Hammarby, he took his career abroad, signing for Croatian side HNK Gorica in 2021 and moving on to Norway's Sarpsborg 08 the following year.
