About the player
Simeon Petrov did not come up through a Bulgarian academy.
He moved to Bulgaria in 2019, joining Strumska Slava, and a year later signed for CSKA 1948. Over four seasons in Sofia he made 71 appearances in the First League, scoring three goals, and also featured for the club's reserve side. That run included European football, with two Conference League appearances in the 2023/24 season.
In January 2024 he was loaned to Śląsk Wrocław in Poland, and the Polish club triggered an option to sign him permanently that summer on a four-year deal. In February 2025 he moved on loan to Hungary's Fehérvár, and that July Śląsk sold his registration to the Hungarian club outright.
Petrov made his senior Bulgaria debut in June 2023, coming on as a substitute in a Euro 2024 qualifier against Serbia, having previously represented the under-21 side. He returned to Bulgarian football in August 2025, joining Botev Plovdiv as a free agent, adding a goal in the league and an assist in the Bulgarian Cup.
