Samuel Alejandro Sosa Cordero

Samuel Sosa broke into Deportivo Táchira's academy setup at 16, and the numbers from those early years still stand out: 36 appearances and eight goals before he had turned nineteen. That form travelled with him to the Venezuela under-20 side, where he took a runners-up medal at the 2017 World Cup and, two years later, a place in the team of the tournament at the South American under-20 championship.

A move to Argentina followed in January 2018, when Talleres signed him from Táchira, though first-team chances there were scarce — five appearances in Córdoba before he was sent out on loan. That loan, to AD Alcorcón in Spain, became the longest and busiest posting of his career: two seasons and 50 matches in Spanish football from 2019, either side of the pandemic disruption to the calendar. He did get a run of goals during a spell back home on loan at Academia Puerto Cabello in 2022 — nine in 28 games — before a permanent transfer took him to Ecuador's Emelec at the end of that year.

Talleres later reached the final of the Copa Argentina in 2022, a run in which Sosa was involved before his path took him back across the Atlantic. A loan to Mexico's Querétaro spanned two seasons through to 2025 and yielded four goals in 41 appearances. Since January 2025 he has been on loan at UCV in Venezuela, where he has scored seven times in 31 matches and was part of the squad that won the Venezuelan Primera División title in 2025.

At senior international level, Sosa made his debut for Venezuela on 1 June 2019 against Ecuador, adding to a youth career that had already brought him a World Cup final appearance and continental recognition before he was twenty.
