Sebastian Jung

Sebastian Jung came through Eintracht Frankfurt's academy, joining as a schoolboy in 1998 and staying with the club for a decade before making the step up. His move to VfL Wolfsburg in May 2014 came on the back of a release clause, worth €2.5 million. Within a year he had won the DFB-Pokal, and he added the DFL-Supercup the following season. That same spring he also won his only senior cap for Germany, coming on as a substitute in the 71st minute of a goalless friendly against Poland in Hamburg, having already worked his way up through every youth level from the U18s to the U21s, including the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Game time at Wolfsburg tailed off later in his spell there, and a run with the club's second team preceded his exit. A free transfer took him to Hannover 96 in June 2019, though he made only nine appearances before moving on again.

Karlsruher SC signed him on a free transfer in September 2020, and the fit has lasted: Jung has since extended his contract twice, first through 2026 and then through 2027, committing himself to the club well into his thirties. He now plays as a right-back wearing the number 2 shirt.
