Stein Kuystens

Stijn Kuijsten joined the PSV academy in 2018 and worked his way through every youth side at the Eindhoven club before signing his first professional contract in May 2024, aged just 16, running to the middle of 2026.

His clearest moment so far came away from competitive football, in the 2024 Otten Innovation Cup. Facing Red Bull Bragantino of Brazil, PSV and their opponents went level through normal time, extra time and fifteen rounds of penalties without either side missing. Kuijsten saved the sixteenth spot-kick, from Kauê Nascimento Santos, to send PSV through as group winners.

He now features for Jong PSV, the club's reserve side in the Eerste Divisie, while also appearing regularly for PSV's under-19 side in the UEFA Youth League — a single appearance in 2024/2025 followed by six in 2025/2026. In March 2026 he was named in the Netherlands under-19 squad for European Championship qualifiers against Finland, Slovenia and Spain.

There have been no reported injuries or off-field controversies to disrupt his progress. For now, his career reads as a steady academy graduation: age-group football, a growing role for the reserves, and one penalty save that PSV supporters who were there are unlikely to forget.
