About the player
When Virginia Kirchberger reached her 100th cap for Austria on 28 February 2024, against Denmark, she joined the FIFA Women's Century Club.
FC Köln, a second spell at Duisburg, then SC Freiburg and Eintracht Frankfurt. She spent two seasons at Freiburg and four at Frankfurt. Both clubs took her to the DFB-Pokal final, Freiburg in 2019 and Frankfurt in 2021.
Her most prominent moments have come with the national team. Austria reached the semi-finals of UEFA Women's Euro 2017, and Kirchberger was part of that side. The squad she belonged to had also won the Cyprus Women's Cup the year before. After the European Championship, she and the national team shared the title of Austrian Sportswoman of the Year for 2017.
In July 2024 she came home to Vienna and joined FK Austria Wien . She is right-footed and stands 176 cm, and she is a regular in the Austria squad.
